If Only – San Nicolas Adventure 3
Ricky and Maya were by the door of their room watching their kids sleep in the bed they were occupying.
“Sweetheart, nakakatuwa talaga tong mga anak natin. Enjoy na enjoy sa buhay probinsiya. Uuwi pa kaya tong mga to?” Maya laughed at her own comment, Ricky laughing along.
“Baka mahirapan nga tayo paguwi. Lalo siguro dito sa baby mo.”
“Kay Sean? bakit?”
“No. I was referring to Sky.”
Maya looked at her husband not getting what he was pointing at.
“Sweetheart, alam mo naman yang anak mo. Matagal makagusto, matagal din umayaw.”
“Naku, oo nga sweetheart. Paano kaya?” Mommy Maya is now worried.
“Don’t worry sweetheart, I know you would be able to find solution for that.”
“Ako? Ako lang talaga? Eh ikaw nga nakaisip!” Maya was poking now Ricky on his stomach making him laughed out loud.
“Mommy, what you doing to dahdi?”
They were surprised to hear Sky.
“Sorry, kuya Sky. Did daddy’s laugh wake you?”
The cute little boy nods his head.
“Come here buddy.” Ricky went by the bed and took Sky. Kissed him on his chubby cheeks as mommy did too.
“You want anything?”
Sky shook his head as he yawns.
“You had a good sleep Sky?”
He nods once again then laid his head by his dad’s neck and close his eyes.
“Naku, inaantok pa daddy. ikaw kasi.”
Ricky answered back chuckling in a whisper, “Why me, eh you were the one poking me.”
“Ah basta, patulugin mo na yan.”
Ricky closed his mouth tight lipped but smiled.
“Labas na tayo sweetheart, baka magising pa tong mga to. Buti si baby Sean mahimbing sa crib.”
The couple left the room with Ricky carrying a sleeping Sky.
“O Maya, Ricky, magmeryenda na kayo. Tulog pa ba ang mga bata?”
“Opo nay. Mukhang napagod po.”
“Eh bakit buhat mo si Sky Richard?”
The couple looked at each other like guilty kids.
Nanay Tere just gave them a knowing smile and shook her head. Both Ricky and Maya were now red on the face and ears.
“O, galing ba kayo sa labas bunso? Bakit ang pupula niyo ni bayaw.”
Nay Tere stifled a laugh as the couple got even redder if it was even possible.
“Nay ano bang meron? Tsaka bakit buhat-buhat mo si Sky Richard? Nasikipan ba sa kwarto?”
“Anak, pakainin na muna natin yang dalawa. Di ko na alam kung normal pa ang pamumula nila o di na makahinga.”
“Nay!” Maya finally burst out.
“Wala po, kakain na po kami.”
Nay Tere smiled again. “O siya, upo na. Richard ibaba mo na muna si Sky dun sa kwarto namin.”
“Okay lang po nay. Baka bigla pong magising, walang katabi.”
“O siya sige, ikaw ng bahala.”
Maya was placing food on Ricky’s plate when..
“What buddy?” Ricky was trying to move Sky so he could see his face.
“Gising na?” Maya whispers. Nay Tere and Kute were just watching.
Maya covered her mouth as she stifled her laugh. Nay Tere and Kute doing the same. Ricky had a surprised looked on his face but recovers quickly.
“Ah, what do you want to eat Sky?”
On the table were suman sa latik, champorado, tuyo and pancit.
“Masarap nga naman ang chuman.” Kute quipped. “Good afternoon Sky, okay na okay ang tulog natin ah.”
Sky grinned at Kute then shied away again and covers his face on his dad’s neck.
“Grabe ka talaga kute.”
“O bakit, anong ginawa ko?”
Maya just playfully glare at her.
“Mommy, I want.”
“Ay, opo. Ito na po kuya Sky.”
Then the door of their room opened revealing the rest of the kids. Luke carrying Sunshine, while Nikki carries baby Sean, Abby in tow.
“Hello mga anak. Kumusta ang tulog?”
“Okay na okay po my. Recharged na kami, ready to play na uli.” Luke answered as he carefully place Sunshine on a chair but the latter went to Maya.
“Yes Sunshine? What do you want?” Maya carries Sunshine on her lap.
“I want chocolate rice with fish mommy.”
“Un pala ang sosyal na tawag dun.” Kute quipped once again.
“Kute talaga.” And they all laughed.
“Thanks a lot po lola Nanay. Spoiled na spoiled kami sa inyo. All our favorites lagi ang handa.”
“Oo nga Niks eh, halata na sa braso mo.”
“Whatever kuya. I won’t mention na lang that you’ve got the same chubby cheeks na rin like Sky.” Nikki teased back her brother. Luke unconsciously touched his cheek making Nikki smile. Maya bit her lip to stop herself from smiling. The rest just minded their food but smiles nonetheless.
