I Hate You Because I Love You

Loving you from afar is not enough. I will make sure that you will notice me and love me the way I have been loving you for a long, long time… -somebody’s thought

Chapter 1

“Maya!”

“Maya! Ay Maya! Ano ba yan! Ano bang problema mo at nanggugulat ka? Ha!” James couldn’t answer as he was busy laughing at Maya. Typical day of James, to make Maya annoyed. But then of course, Maya wouldn’t let him have the last laugh.

“Argghh!!! Ang lamig!!!” James shouted at the top of his lungs when Maya poured on him a bucket full ice and water.

“Ano to Maya, ice bucket challenge!” James was chilling a bit. Maya just looked at him then stuck her tongue and laughed.

“Ha! Kala mo di ako ready noh! Style mo kasi bulok!”

This is how these two would always banter. Typical brother and sister bantering.

“Maya, James, ano na namang pinagagagawa nyo? Magsiligo na kayo at aalis na tayo.” Nanay Tere called out on her children whom she know were just playing around.

“Tere, ano na namang ginawa nung dalawa?” Tay Arturo asked his wife.

“Ayun, nagaasaran na naman, pero si James ang talo ngayon. Pinaliguan ng bunso mo ng malamig na tubig ang kuya nya.” Nanay Tere told her husband while laughing.

“Mana talaga sayo..” Tay Arturo quipped but then Nay Tere stopped laughing and gave him a dagger look. “..pareho kayong maganda.” Tay Arturo swallowed an imaginary lump on his throat, disguising his discomfort. Then Nanay Tere laughed and hugged her husband.

“Ikaw naman di na mabiro. Syempre kanino pa dapat magmana yang mga anak natin, syempre sa atin. Mag-ayos ka na at baka mainip pa ung dalawang un. Alam mo namang di pwedeng pinagaantay ung mga un at baka kung ano na namang kalokohan ang simulan.” Tay Arturo kissed her wife first on her cheek before he went to their room to change.

“Ricky! Tayo na.  Mag-ayos ka na raw sabi ng Mama mo.” Manang Fe was having difficulty waking up her ward.

“Manang, five minutes more.” Ricky stubbornly cower on his bed.

“O sya, iwan na kita at magluluto pa ko. Parating na rin sina Teresita at ang pamilya nya..” Manang Fe wa not even finished with what she was saying when Ricky stood up and dashed to the bathroom. Manang Fe was too shocked to react at once. She could only shake her head and smile.
