-After 10 years-

“Ricky, are you going to join us?”

“Hi Ma. I’ll check my schedule ma pero I’ll make sure na makasama ako.”

“Wow! That’s good to hear. I have invited Teresita’s family too for dinner.”

“Really ma? It would be great to see them again.”

“I know son. And I know you miss that person so much.”

“Ma!”

“Oh bakit, di mo ba namimiss ang best friend mo?”

“He’s here?”

“Yes. Kasabay sya nina Teresita and miss ka na din daw nya. I’m not sure about Maya. May date ata.”

Silence.

“Son, are you still there? I was just teasing. Workaholic kasi si Maya kaya di pa kinokomit ni Teresita kung makakasama.”

“Hay naku ma, you’re still at it.”

“O bakit, is it not ok to wish and hope for something? Ikaw lang naman kasi, ayaw mong ligawan.”

“hahaha. You still believe that we are the love team of the century.”

“But of course. I love you dearly my son but you’re not getting any younger and I want apos now.”

“Sige na ma, tapusin ko na mga ginagawa ko para makapunta ko for dinner.”

“Okay, I love you, bye.”

“I love you too ma, bye.”

After the phone call from his mom, he made another call.

“Hi.”

“Hello.”

“Are you free tonight?”

“Ah, would depend. Bakit mo natanong?”

“hahaha, ang sungit naman. May dinner kasi sa bahay, eh kinukulit ako ni mama.”

“Ano namang gagawin ko dun?”

“I think it’s time.”

Silence filled the air.

“Hello?”

Clears throat. “Uhmmm, sigurado ka?”

“Of course. Ikaw lang naman inaantay ko.”

“Eh, baka napipilitan ka lang.”

“What? And why would you think na napipilitan ako? O ayaw mo lang talagang..”

Before he could finish his sentence.

“Okay na okay na. Pag-aawayan pa ba naman natin to. Sige na, sunduin mo na lang ako dito sa office.”

With a big smile on his face, “Great! I’ll pick you up at 6 malapit lang naman from your office. See you later.”
